Reporting Abuse

If you suspect a child is being abused, it should be reported to Medina County Job and Family Services (MCJFS) at

330-661-0800.

If a child is in immediate danger, please call 911.

The longer abuse continues, the greater the potential for serious and long-term emotional and psychological difficulties are for the child.

2014 Annual Campaign

Last year community donations helped 96 children in Medina County heal from abuse and provided outreach to 1,350 children. Without your support these children would not receive the help they need. These children depend on caring adults such as you for help. The Children’s Center of Medina County (CCMC) mission is to nurture abused and neglected children through collaboration, advocacy, treatment and prevention. The CCMC helps children of all ages and their families recover from the devastation of child sexual abuse and neglect by providing forensically-sound interviews, medical examinations, crisis intervention and follow up services and referrals for long-term counseling. The CCMC is a non-profit charitable organization reliant on donations from the community to provide these vital services.  All of these services provided to the child and non-offending family members are at no cost to the families because of the CCMC’s generous donors! Sadly, the need is growing and so is the CCMC’s role in the community.

Last year the Governor of Ohio declared the CCMC as a first responder for Minor Victims of Human Trafficking for Medina County.  Recently, a Congressional Representative toured the CCMC to learn about Human Trafficking and Child Abuse on a local level and how an agency such as the CCMC positively impacts our community. Your support is essential to help children throughout Medina County struggling with abuse and trafficking. Please find it in your heart to donate so that these children will continue to have a safe place to begin their healing process. Your gift will directly impact local children and families in need of these vital services.

If you have any questions or would like further information please feel free to contact Rhonda Wurgler, Executive Director at 330-764-8891, ext. 214.

…because one Medina County child is reason enough!
