What We Do

Our Mission is to nurture abused and neglected children through collaboration, advocacy, treatment, and prevention.

We are a child-oriented facility, which serves as a centralized location for interviewing and examining children who are victims of physical and sexual abuse.
Our main focus is the health and wellness of the child. Members of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) help the child and family cope with the abuse and begin the recovery process.

The Children's Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

What is The Children's Center of Medina County (CCMC) ?

The Children's Center of Medina County (CCMC), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit agency that serves as a centralized location for interviewing and examining children who are victims of physical and sexual abuse.

The CCMC also provides a family friendly home-like environment for children in foster care to remain connected with their families during their time of separation.

Why is the CCMC Important?

The criminal justice system, primarily designed for adult perpetrators not child victims, can often lack coordination between police, prosecution, mental health and medical agencies. Before The Children's Center of Medina County (CCMC), children were often re-victimized through repetitive interviews due to each agency's independent process.

This unnecessary process led to duplicate efforts between the various departments while also making the information more complex for the child's case. The Center helps overcome these problems by reducing child trauma and enhancing the investigation, resulting in improved lives for child victims and a higher number of convictions for offenders.

Who Does the CCMC Serve?

Since The Children’s Center opened in 2007, we have nurtured 9,000 children ages birth to 18 years in Medina County through the programs we offer our community.

These include the Child Advocacy Center, Community Outreach, Prevention, Human Trafficking and Foster Care Visitation.

During this past year, we were able to help 1,897 children and 1,793 adults in Medina County with our programs, passionate staff, volunteers, partners, team members and Board of Directors.

With the support from our donors and team; we will continue helping the community.

Are Clients Charged for Services?

The CCMC is a non-profit charitable organization reliant on donations from the community to provide these vital services.

All of these services provided to the clients (child and non-offending family members) are at no cost to the families because of the CCMC’s generous donors!
