Reporting Abuse

If you suspect a child is being abused, it should be reported to Medina County Job and Family Services (MCJFS) at

If a child is in immediate danger, please call 911.

The longer abuse continues, the greater the potential for serious and long-term emotional and psychological difficulties are for the child.

Child Abuse Prevention Month

We believe that every child has a right to a safe childhood free of violence.
April, Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month, is an important time to start the conversation in our communities about how we can keep our children safe.  By coming together we can make a difference in the lives of children in Medina County as well as across the country. By promoting safety, awareness and dialogue, we can prevent abuse from happening in the first place and help keep our children safe.

Ohio Wears Blue
WearBlue is a statewide awareness campaign that takes place on the second Wednesday of every April, Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Ohioans are encouraged to wear blue that day - to work, to school, to a community event - to show support for preventing child abuse and neglect.
This year it is April 8th, 2015.
Please post a photo of you and your coworkers, friends, neighbors, fellow students, and others wearing blue on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/TheChildrensCenterOfMedinaCounty

Community Pinwheel Walk to Prevent Child Abuse

April 18, 2015 9:00am - 11:00
A one mile walk from Historical Medina Square to St Francis Xavier, where we will plant a large pinwheel garden before returning to the Square's Gazebo.
This FREE walk is so we can gather with friends, family and the community as we take our turn to make a difference in the lives of the children in Medina County. Each Pinwheel planted represents one child abused in 2014 in Medina County.  For registration or more information, please visit our Events page.
